I was so appreciative to be given the opportunity to be a recipient of his commitment to generously sharing his diverse life's experiences and professional expertise.
A couple of days after hearing about James passing, I was cleaning out my storage unit, and by accident ( I don't think so ), opened up one of my boxes and nestled into the stack of Feng Shui papers was the notebook that I received at my initial class with James. The first page was a story called, "The Importance Of Living". At the very bottom of the page I had written a note to myself that said, "everything was important". It was the first gift of many that I received from James and his teachings.
My experience of James through all of the succeeding years that we were colleagues was that he made sure that everything was important. He took consistent action in bringing so many diverse people with a variety of backgrounds, together; because it was important.
Prior to the Palm Springs Feng Shui Conference, he asked me if I was interested in facilitating an open forum to discuss the importance of having our community be licensed and the actual process of how we would go about that. He knew it was the right time for that discussion and that it was important. I was honored that he felt I was capable enough to respectfully hold that space for so many people, with so many different opinions. His trust in me was a blessing I will always hold dear to my heart. It was at that conference that a small group of us agreed to form the International Feng Shui Guild.
James held true to what he felt was important, whether you agreed or not, you knew where he stood and I truly respected him for that.
Thank you James for making life important. Thank you for making me feel important. Thank you for making so many others important.
